One Systems Speakers Bring Power and Fidelity to North Carolina High School
Nashville, Tennessee – This fall South Stokes High School in Walnut Cove, NC decided to upgrade the sound system for its outdoor athletics field. They selected One Systems, a leading manufacturer of direct weather loudspeakers. Moxley Production Services of King, North Carolina performed the system design and installation of the 212IM systems.
South Stokes High School needed a powerful, weatherproof, sound system that could cover the home grandstands, as well as the field. "The main concern of the client, and the challenge of this installation was being able to achieve full bandwidth response for music and great speech intelligibility for the fans in the bleachers and the players on the field," says LeVan Moxley, Owner of Moxley Production Services. "The coaches and players wanted to hear the music clearly in order to raise their energy level before games and at halftime."
South Stokes field is an example of a direct weather environment requiring highly intelligible speakers that can perform well for both music and speech. With the speakers mounted to the top of the press box railings, each 212IM is designed to throw sound to both sides of the field from the home side. Due to the long throw capability of these speakers and their vocal intelligibility, spectators, players and coaches are all able to clearly hear the music.
"One Systems met and exceeded all of our needs and expectations; we are very pleased with the results. More important, the client is pleased," says Moxley.
