Lexington High School in South Carolina Upgrades Its Stadium's Sound with One Systems
Nashville, Tennessee – When Lexington High School in Lexington, SC decided to upgrade its sound system for their outdoor athletics facility, home to football games and band competitions, they chose One Systems speakers, a leading manufacturer of high intelligibility, direct weather loudspeakers. Gattis Pro Audio Inc. of Lexington, SC performed the design, layout and installation that consists of four (4) 312CIM and one (1) 112IM speaker.
For years, Lexington High School had been using an aging, technically outdated sound reinforcement system. When school administrators began preparing for the 2011 fall season, they discovered that their original system was in need of immediate replacement. The original system was not weatherproofed or adequate for the desired coverage area.
These obvious system inadequacies led administrators to seek out weatherproof speakers that could provide them ample coverage with exceptional sound, and withstand the outdoor elements for years to come. Lexington High School tapped Gattis Pro Audio, and owner Sid Gattis, to find the perfect sound system for their facility.
When Gattis was awarded the contract to install the new sound reinforcement system, he chose One Systems speakers for several reasons, but mainly as a result of the impressive demonstration he received when the One Systems team visited him and demoed the product. One Systems' patented Equivalent Throat™ horn/driver technology and proven weatherproof design made choosing them simple for Gattis. Having never used One Systems products before, Gattis was blown away by the outstanding intelligibility, incredible projection and exceptional overall tonal quality.
The 312CIM speakers were mounted on light poles surrounding the facility using One Systems' Pole Mount System EX-2. The 112IM was mounted on the front of the press box horizontally using the 112IM-U U-Bracket. This particular configuration ensures even coverage without annoying time delays.
"With the help of Mike O'Neill, One Systems Chief Engineer, and the superb sound produced by One Systems speakers, the client and our company are absolutely pleased with this installation," says Gattis.
