One Systems Introduces Portable Outdoor Presentation System at prolight + sound 2010
Nashville, Tennessee USA – March 24, 2010 –
One Systems, a leading manufacturer of direct-weather
loudspeaker systems, is unveiling a new product at
prolight + sound 2010 in Frankfurt, Germany that
answers an unfulfilled need in the professional audio
market for a high-output, powered sound system that is
capable of being used outdoors in any weather
condition.
The One Systems Powered Outdoor Presentation
System (POPS) is designed for use at outdoor events
such as sporting events, civic celebrations and festivals
that require a high-output, wide-range sound system
that is easy to move, quick to set up and is capable of
withstanding rain, snow and any temperature extreme.
Although the POPS system can withstand the
elements, its sound quality, vocal intelligibility and wide
response make it perfect for use anywhere.
The POPS is comprised of the POPS 15, a bi-amplified
15-inch two-way system, and the POPS Sub, a
powered 18-inch subwoofer. All POPS enclosures,
electronics, components and even its accessories have
been designed for use in inclement weather conditions.
The POPS 15 houses premium-quality speaker components, including a 15-inch
woofer with a 4-inch (101.6 mm) voice coil, a large-format compression driver
and a High-Q 60o x 40o constant-directivity horn capable of delivering medium to
long-throw coverage. The POPS 15 is also equipped with 1,600 watts of peak
class-D power and its onboard digital signal processing module provides high-
order filtering and crossover functions, free-field optimized equalization plus
system dynamics and protection algorithms.
The POPS 15’s enclosure is injection-molded from a special resin designed to
withstand rough weather and ultra-violet rays. All of the POPS 15’s rigging
components and its 3-layer grille are made of ultra-high grade stainless steel.
The enclosure has been designed to IEC 529 / IP 56 ingress protection
standards and its transducers, electronic switches and input / output connections
are designed to meet weather / waterproof requirements.
The POPS Sub is designed to provide bass reinforcement for the POPS 15 and
with it creates a digitally-controlled, class-D powered 3,200-watt tri-amplified
sound system.
The POPS Sub utilizes an 18-inch (457 mm) woofer with a large-format 4-inch
(101.6 mm) voice coil powered by a 1,600-watt class-D amplifier and full digital
signal control. The POPS Sub features an optimally-vented enclosure with large-diameter pneumatic wheels that allow the POPS Sub and the POPS 15
combination to be easily transported across soft soil areas such as sports fields
and large grassy areas.
The POPS Sub’s enclosure is constructed from a heavily-braced, 18-mm marine-grade birch plywood that is painted with a wear and weather-resistant
polyurethane finish and equipped with a 3-layer high-grade stainless steel grille
and rigging hardware. The enclosure has been designed to IEC 529 / IP 45
ingress protection standards and its transducers, electronic switches and input /
output connections are designed to meet weather / waterproof requirements.
The POPS 15 and POPS Sub also come with a height-adjustable, crank-up
loudspeaker mounting pole for elevating the POPS 15 above its audience from
the POPS Sub. The POPS System also includes a customized AC Mains cable
assembly and special IP67-rated 3-pin XLR-XLR signal cables that are moisture
and weather-resistant. Both cable assemblies are supplied on portable cable
reels for fast system setup, easier transportation and safe operation.
The POPS is a unique sound system that is highly portable, easy to set up, and
extremely flexible. It can be used outside in any weather, yet is the perfect choice
for indoor uses too because of its incredibly detailed, wide-range sound.
If necessary, the POPS 15 can also be used for rigging or permanent installation
thanks to its built-in 7 x M10 fly points and a selection of optional hardware
pieces for suspension or arraying.
Visitors to prolight + sound 2010 can visit One Systems in Hall 8.0 Stand # J 70C
