One Systems Provides Sound for Iowa Church
Nashville, Tennessee, February, 2010 – St. Mary’s Catholic Church, in Humboldt,
Iowa has recently upgraded their sound system with One Systems loudspeakers, the
quality leader in direct-weather speaker systems.
Designed to accommodate a variety of worship services, musical performances, video
and vocal presentations, St. Mary’s Catholic Church seats approximately 450 and is
also used by St. Mary’s Catholic School, who perform spring and winter concerts for
parishioners. The challenge for this project was to ensure that everyone in the
congregation be able to hear music and the spoken word clearly. When Sim Sound and
Video, Inc. of Winona, MN was awarded the installation contract, they knew from past
experiences that One Systems speakers would be able to help them achieve their
customer’s goal.
Sim Sound & Video installed one of One Systems’ 112IM speakers in the front of the
congregation and a second one was flown from the ceiling of the church in front of the
choir loft. “The parishioners as well as the performers needed to be able to hear both
the spoken word and music in real time, without sonic reflections and through this
particular speaker placement, we were able to deliver that,” says Dean Sim, President
of Sim Sound Sim Sound & Video. “The sound is clear and crisp and we have heard
nothing but compliments since the installation.”
Melissa Caquelin, a St. Mary’s School music teacher, spoke of the sonic improvement
as well. “Everyone is very pleased with the sound quality from these new speakers. The
old system’s sound had become worn and muffled, which posed a problem with some of
our elder members to hear. Both the worship services as well as performances have
benefited from the improvement.”
