One Systems Chosen for Ngong Ping 360 Village, Hong Kong
Nashville, Tennessee, December, 2009 – Ngong Ping 360 Village, atop Lantau Island
in Hong Kong, has recently selected One Systems Direct Weather loudspeakers for a
new installation. The installation includes three pole-mounted 108IM direct weather
loudspeakers that greet visitors at the entrance gate, as well as an additional four 108IM
direct weather speakers for supplemental portable use during live performances.
Ngong Ping, a popular tourist attraction, is a cultural themed village designed and
landscaped to educate visitors, as well as reflect upon the spiritual integrity of the
Ngong Ping area. The 1,500 square meter village features multimedia guided tours, and
is accessible by bus or the Ngong Ping Cable car, a 5.7km long bi-cable gondola
system with breathtaking views. One of the most popular attractions is Walking with the
Buddha, a multimedia attraction offering visitors a peak into the journey to
enlightenment of Siddhartha Gautama and how he became Buddha. Other notable
attractions include: Monkey’s Tale Theatre, a computer generated comedic film for all
ages, the Ngong Ping Tea house where guests can sample traditional Chinese tea and
cakes, as well as a diverse array of retail shops throughout the village.
Toward the end of 2008, Ngong Ping investors knew that the entrance gate was in need
of a permanent, cost effective and reliable speaker system to advise guests of
upcoming special events and information. When Sound Classy of Hong Kong and their
system integrator, Johnson Controls Hong Kong Limited, were awarded the contract to
design and install the new system, they chose One Systems speakers based on their
