Owatonna High School Chooses One Systems for Stadium Install

Nashville, Tennessee, November 2009 - When Owatonna High School decided to upgrade the sound system for their outdoor stadium, home to football games, lacrosse matches and other events like the school’s commencement ceremonies, they chose One Systems speakers, a leading new manufacturer of “direct weather” loudspeaker systems. The installation included 212CIM/70 full range loudspeaker systems (including 600 watt, 3 tap 70V line matching transformers) mounted on One Systems exclusive Pole Mount Systems.

For years Owatonna High School, located in Owatonna Minnesota, had been hanging on to an aging sound reinforcement system. When Athletic Director, Ryan Swanson tested the system before the first scrimmage game, he discovered that the original system was in need of
immediate replacement. Swanson tapped Sim Sound and Video, Inc. for the system design and installation.

Working closely with Swanson, Dean Sim, Systems Designer of Sim Sound and Video, Inc., had less than 2 weeks to choose and install the system. Due to time constraints, Sim was required to find a company that could meet their sound requirements, turn around the order in one week, and work quickly with their credit application. One Systems answered the call, and the speakers were delivered and installed before the first game of the season.

“One Systems helped us tremendously by expediting the product quickly and following up on the shipment. The speakers have exceeded our expectations and we are delighted with the sound quality, vocal range and amazing clarity,” says Sim. ”Even our lead technician, Joe
Gunderson admitted that the sound from these speakers are as close to perfect as anything he’s ever installed.”

The stadium, which holds upwards of 4,000 fans, is an example of a direct weather environment requiring highly intelligible speaker systems that perform well for both music and spoken applications. “With temperatures in Owatonna ranging from -30 degrees to 110, and an average participation of 31.64 inches, we knew One Systems could provide great sound as well as a lasting system for years to come, “ says One Systems President, Doug MacCallum.
