Premier Texas Nightclub and Lounge Upgrades with One Systems Speakers
Nashville, Tennessee, October 2009 - When Rocbar Houston, a premiere nightclub and lounge in Houston, Texas decided to upgrade their current sound system, they chose One Systems Speakers. Designed to accommodate a variety of musical performances including live bands and raucous DJ’s, Rocbar Houston holds over 500 people and was designed by the famed MUSE Architects in New York City.
Since Rocbar Houston’s 2008 inception, the initial speakers had already begun to decline in output and clarity. Rocbar’s Director of Operations, Jerry Watson knew the original system could no longer provide the sound needed, and tapped Diavolo Systems LLC for the installation upgrade. Understanding that the previous system was grossly inadequate for a live music and DJ mix, Tim Hannum, CEO of Diavolo Systems LLC searched for a multi-purpose system that could easily interchange from live music to a DJ playback PA.
Working closely with Watson, Hannum chose six 312CIM's and two 218Sub-W's from One Systems, which together offer full bandwidth operation at very high sound pressure levels. Using One Systems flying/suspension hardware, the six 312CIM's are divided into three’s and flown on each side of the 396 square foot stage. Combining One Systems raw power with a DBX Zonepro 641IM processor provides the clarity and capabilities needed to rock any music venue.
The model 312CIM is a two-way high output system utilizing two twelve inch Inside/Only™ (patent pending) woofers, with a twelve-inch high output coax high frequency unit aligned as a shaded array. The 218Sub-W is a double eighteen-inch subwoofer system. All One Systems loudspeakers are designed to IP 45 or higher standards and have weatherproof designs.
After comparing a number of speakers, Hannum chose One Systems, not only for the quality of sound but for the price tag as well. "We knew we wanted high powered indoor speakers, so we tested everything we could get our hands on, and even though these are weather-proof, they by far exceeded all of our expectations for an indoor application! The speakers have a clean, modern look and can handle a ton of power. The output at sustained high levels is without distortion and is purely flawless and priced right for our budget."
Rocbar nightclubs and lounges operate in different locations around the country, including Baltimore, Maryland, Kansas City, Missouri and Louisville, Kentucky. The 2.5 million dollar club opened its doors in November of 2008 showcasing their generous layout including a 60-foot “rock” bar with adjacent VIP seating, a live music stage with DJ booth and a 20-foot video wall. MUSE Architects, Tim and Jae are also credited with designing Pangaea of New York and Gryphon at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.
