Ocean Park Hong Kong Installs One Systems Speakers
Nashville, Tennessee, August 1, 2009 - The world-famous Amazing Bird Theatre in Ocean Park Hong Kong has been enhanced with a new sound system from One Systems. The 112IM, 118Sub-W and Systems Supervisor were supplied and installed by One Systems distributor, Sound Classy of Hong Kong.
Ocean Park Hong Kong was built with donations from the Royal Hong Kong Jockey Club (now Hong Kong Jockey Club) and opened on January 10, 1977. It is now one of the world’s largest marine parks also operating observatories, well-developed laboratories, an education department and a Whale and Dolphin Fund. Forbes recognized Ocean Park Hong Kong as one of the World’s Most Popular Amusement Parks’ in 2006 with over 4 million visitors a year.
As one of three main theatres conducting educational shows daily, The Amazing Bird Theatre Phase I renovation began in April 2009 and was completed, June 2009. When Sound Classy was awarded the contract to install a new system, they chose One Systems speakers based on their experience from previous installations. “The 1,200 sq. ft. outdoor theatre seating 450 was a perfect situation for One Systems products,” says Him Chan of Sound Classy. “The trainers’ voices needed to be able to break through the cacophony of birds and audience applause and the system needed the ability to withstand any form of precipitation.”
“This will be the first One Systems installation in Hong Kong to be used for Live Themed Performances,” explains One Systems President, Doug MacCallum. “We are very excited to be a part of such an installation and we are looking forward to many more in the future.” Since the initial Phase I renovation of the Amazing Bird Theatre, Phase II will add an additional four more One Systems speaker for live surround sound effects.
